The Life of Lily Kempson
Elizabeth 'Lily' Kempson was one of the last survivors of the 1916 Easter Rising. She was a member of the Irish Volunteer Army and a precursor to the IRA. In later life when she got married, she was formely known as Elizabeth McAlerney. ''(17th Janruary 1897 - 22nd Janruary 1996)''

Elizabeth 'Lily' Kempson was born on the 17th Janruary 1897. She was born into a poor family in Dublin, Ireland.〔http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.britisles.ireland.dubl.general/2327/mb.ashx〕 Her father, James Kempson was originally from County Carlow and was a railway worker. He died at the age of 70 in 1940. Her mother, was originally from County Wicklow, however, she died at the age of 48 in 1919.
